This lot consists of 1 black bridle leather Civil War carbine cartridge box with an interior wooden holder for 20 rimfire cartridges. There are no maker’s marks on the box. / 1 Indian War period Dyer cartridge pouch with an embossed "US" in an oval on the front. Pouch has a front-mounted finial with a brass escutcheon on the flap to secure to the finial. / 1 Indian War period 2nd Model Hagner cartridge box with an impressed "US" in an oval on the flap. The interior shows a total of 24 canvas loops. Belt loops and the securing thong are intact. CONDITION: Civil War box shows flexing and some flaking but is generally solid. The Dyer box has a weak impression of the oval on the front and shows moderate wear overall. Hagner box shows light wear. (02-23117/BF). $300-400.
