CARBINES. Cal. 22 LR. S# 110-63736. Bbl. 18 1/2" with standard banded gold bead front sight and folding leaf rear. Roll mark date of May 31, 1973 (1961 to date for all 10/22's) per factory letter signed by Ruger President, Michael O. Fifer. Prior to its Ruger Auction sale, it was stored in the factory collection at Southport, CT until October of 2012 when sold on Gun Broker via a Ruger Benefit Auction; winning bid was $3.050. Only 6 were made from serial number 110-63733 to 110-63738 having hand stamped (in slightly flawed alignment) "RUGER GREEN BERET" on left side of receiver without "10/22" designation anywhere on the carbine. A consecutively numbered example (110-63735) is listed preceding this one. Standard barrel address absent of "warning" marks (initiated 1977). Matte green Teflon finish resembling military parkerizing. Oiled walnut stock by Overton that has early back slant cut at forend tip plus alloy buttplate and barrel band. Internet search to ROCS (Ruger Owners and Collectors Society) noted number 110-63734 was sold at another Ruger Benefit Auction to a FFL holder in NJ for just over $2,500; no info found about the other 3 Green Beret Carbines. Exceedingly rare, documented 10/22 Carbine. MAGS: 1 factory 10 rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: above mentioned factory letter. 44 Carbine box with added label and black felt marker info on end opposite 44 markings plus shipping sleeve addressed to FFL in CO. CONDITION: all aspects near excellent including bore. (23-6856/NW). MODERN. $1,500-2,000.
