1) US Model 1905 bayonet with a 16" fullered blade. Left ricasso is marked "RIA (flaming bomb) 1906." Markings, while legible, have a double-struck appearance. Right ricasso is marked "US." Ribbed walnut replacement grips. Plastic scabbard with metal throat; throat has "US" in a flaming bomb. CONDITION: bayonet retains traces of its original blue, with thinning and light oxidation. Blade has been lightly sharpened. Replacement grips in good condition, with light wear and staining. Scabbard has been painted green, with wear and flaking. 2) Japanese Type 30 bayonet with a 15 5/8" fullered blade. Later-production bayonet is marked with two symbols representing production under Kokura supervision. Crossguard is fabricated from a flat metal bar, but has the curved quillon. Smooth hardwood grips retained by two rivets. Grips stand notable proud of metal. Blued steel scabbard. CONDITION: bayonet is in very good condition, retaining 75% of its original blue finish, with thinning, wear, and areas of light oxidation. (02-23583/RW). $200-400.
