HELMETS, & 10 BERETS . This lot consists of 1 fine example of a front seam swivel bail US M1 helmet with a sanded finish and a medic’s red cross on a white disc insignia on each side. Helmet is a fine WWII example but is in need of a liner. / 1 US M1 helmet with a green finish and "SP 27" stenciled in black on the front. The helmet is a rear seam swivel bail-style with no liner. / 1 US M1 helmet with a green finish and "SP 309" stenciled on the rear exterior of the helmet. Helmet is a rear seam, swivel-bail style with a post-WWII liner featuring a partial 4-contact chinstrap. / 8 Green berets for the Royal New Brunswick Regiment. One beret has a cap badge that reads "ROYAL NEW BRUNSWICK REGIMENT SPEM REDUXIT". / 1 Badly mothed British dull olive wool beret with a cloth badge depicting a winged sword and the motto "WHO DARES WINS". / 1 WWII-era Spanish dull olive beret with a crowned eagle cap badge featuring a central red Christian cross. CONDITION: medic’s helmet shell shows light wear overall. "SP 27" helmet shows heavy wear with oxidation, particularly at the edges. "SP 309" helmet shows moderate wear with three stress cracks in the body of the helmet. Berets generally show light to moderate wear, except as noted above. (02-22440-5/BF). $500-750.
