These medals were designed by Tiffany and awarded to Ohio soldiers who served during the American Civil War. Each medal shows Victory crowning a Union soldier on the obverse with the dates 1861-1865. The reverse reads “THE STATE OF OHIO TO (soldier’s name) VETERAN (soldier’s unit) OHIO VOLUNTEER (branch).” All medals are engraved to a soldier of the Infantry or Light Artillery. CONDITION: none of the medals have ribbons, and 10 have at least partial suspension devices intact. Three show only a small drilled hole for suspension. Medals show varying degrees of wear.
