UNDERLEVER, HAMMER SXS SHOTGUN. Cal. 16 Ga., 2 1/2". S# 21. Appears to have been mfg. before 1891 due to lack of German Proofs that became standard in 1891. Twist 30 5/8" bbls. w/ steel bead. Bore chokes appear to measure Full & IC. Round body receiver has floral & scroll engraving that extends to top tang, hammers, & triggerguard bow. Engraving also included woodland scenes featuring a prancing doe on triggerguard bow, pigeons on left lock & fox on right lock. Horn piece on lever & finger curl reinforcement behind triggerguard. Checkered walnut wedge forearm. Checkered walnut straight grip stock w/ large left side cheekpiece & toeline sling swivel. LOP: steel buttplate. CONDITION: barrels show good twist pattern with brown finish showing brown patina & areas of pitting. Receiver has gray patina appearance with light marks. Wood shows light sanded & refinish along with cracks & breaks in wrist area, wood chips along barrel channels & numerous dings & marks. Pitted bores. Forearm wedge missing.
