A good example of an early English iron breastplate from the 17th to early 18th century. This breastplate is hand forged with museum quality replaced leather attachment straps and rivets for display purposes. Breastplate has a raised medial ridge as normally seen along with a small hole near the top for hanging. CONDITION: iron has a dark ancient patina. leather straps and rivets show light wear. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of Nicholas Apergis. (02-24748/BF). $800-1300.
