Cal. 71. NSN. Bbl. 44 3/4", held to stock w/ 3 bands; rear spring retained, middle clamped on & front driven on w/ pin. Rear portion is cut for rear sight (missing) & stamped "G". Lock appears to have original flint pan w/ bridle broken off; replacement frizzen, feather spring & cock. Lock marked "O BIDWELL", "MIDDLETOWN" in front of cock & "1811" at rear. Stock w/ dished left side of comb is fitted w/ brass buttplate, trigger guard & sideplate. There is a foreign proof on left side panel. UNATTCHED ACCESSORIES: triangular bayonet w/ 15" blade that fits well. CONDITION: iron parts dark brown patina. Stock w/ old finish & hand wear. Brass toned to very dark brown. Sling loops are present, ramrod is missing. Lock is operable, does not fit mortise well. Pitted bore. PROVENANCE: The Estate Collection of Gary Parietti. (01-19717/JS). ANTIQUE. $800-1,200.
