PISTOL. Cal. 69. NSN. Bbl. 8". This was among the most popular pattern flintlock pistols made & emulated worldwide. Officially called the model of year XIII (1805), which was the 13th year of the French Republic. Standard configuration about 14" overall. Bbl. w/ several proofs. Brass & steel mounted w/ all parts inspected & proved. Made at various armories from 1806-1814. This example was made in 1812, in time for Napoleon’s Charleville Waterloo, where some pistols of this pattern were taken as souvenirs. CONDITION: very good overall, complete & original. Good, discernible markings. Including cartouche w/ inspection date, though light. Mechanically fine w/ clear, smooth bore. PROVENANCE: The Estate Collection of Gary Parietti. (01-19246/JS).
