PISTOL. 54 Cal. NSN. Standard configuration of 1st American dragoon pistol with captured loading assembly, 10" barrel proofed “JDJ / P / US” (John D. Johnson) double band with brass sight. Lock marked “S. NORTH / US (w/ eagle) / MIDLN CON” and “1821’ at tail under sliding safety that was 1st introduced on this model. Stock inspected “JW” (Joseph Weatherhead). This is an honest original flint survivor with very good markings. CONDITION: very good overall, iron cleaned and polished, pitting, markings all discernible including cartouche & “V” proof in stock. Mechanics fine, smooth clear bore. (01-21465/JS). ANTIQUE. $1,500-2,000.
