REVOLVER. Cal. 45. S# 8315. This revolver was manufactured in 1874 is in the standard configuration of cavalry issued revolvers of the Indian War era, 7.5" barrel with one line slanted Hartford address with daggers. Frame is stamped along with two line patent dates with small "U.S.". Small "A" inspection marks found on barrel, trigger guard, back strap, and cylinder. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 1999 letter from Colt archives stating that there was no information on this gun. CONDITION: good to very good overall, appears all matching & original, gray patina, markings all discernible, groups have hand worn patina and no hint of remaining inspectors cartouche with heavy edge wear.
