Cal. approx. 60. NSN. Bbl. measures 13 1/4". This early long barreled pistol appears to be of French origin, possibly for the North Africa or Caribbean market. Bbl. has decorative engraving at the breech. Iron lock is also similarly engraved on the lock face & the cock. Brass trigger guard, butt cap, star shaped wrist escutcheon & sm. sideplates. Wood has decorative carving at the breech that extends past the bbl. tang. Bbl. has wire whipping at the front securing it to the bbl. channel. CONDITION: bbl. & lock have a medium gray mottled patina. Brass parts have been cleaned but are beginning to reacquire a mustard patina. Lock holds both full & half cock but is quite tight. Stock has several losses under the rear of the lock & all around the bbl. channel. Buttcap is loose but present. Dark, crusty bore. (01-18395/BF). ANTIQUE. $400-600.
