& SOHN OF SUHL. Cal. 12 Ga., 2 3/4". S# 12646 (12/24 = Dec. 1924). The Special Gewehr Lauf Steel 30" barrels with matte rib, brass front & ivory mid beads. Bottom rib has sling swivel base. Water table has "13/1" 1924 German Nitro proofs. Case colored boxlock action decorative with geometric borders. Action features side clips, cocking indicators, Greener crossbolt, double triggers, extractors & auto-safety. Walnut splinter forearm with ebony tip, checkering & Anson release. Pistol grip walnut stock with horn grip cap, horn trigger guard & checkering at wrist. LOP: 13 1/4" to horn buttplate. CONDITION: very good blue with peppery oxidation throughout along with scattered spots of missing finish. Traces of case colors visible in protected areas with balance of receiver has gray patina appearance with light marks. Very good horn trigger guard. Horn grip cap has large chips missing. Forearm has good worn finish. Buttstock lightly sanded & refinished with square inlet fill to toeline where sling base previously installed. Shiny bores with light pitting & couple of dents.
