RIOT CONFIGURATION SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 GA. S# 829868. Bbl. 20 1/2". Model 97 pump action riot shotgun mfg. by Winchester in 1932. Left side of the bbl. is marked "MODEL 97", followed by the Winchester trademark logo, "12 GA.", as well as a "CYL." choke marking, with Winchester's 2-line mfg. and patent information marked on the right. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Grooved wood forearm and plain wood pistol grip buttstock with Winchester checkered black hard rubber buttplate. Aluminum bead front sight. Matching numbers are present on the receiver and receiver extension. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some small scattered spots of light surface oxidation and a few superficial handling marks overall. Right side of receiver exhibits a small patch of mild pitting along the edge of the loading port. Receiver extension exhibits exhibits streaks of flaking that are fading to gray and brown patinas. Action slide exhibits some light to mild wear from cycling of the action. Mirror bore, exhibiting a few light streaks of apparent hardened grease or firing residue. Proper manual mechanics. Wood furniture is very good to excellent overall, exhibiting a few light superficial marks from handling and storage. A very attractive Winchester Model 97 shotgun.
