WITH WAR TROPHY PAPERS. Cal. 7.62x25. S# rb2002. Bbl. 4.5" Mfg.1945. A Russian TT-33 War Trophy as liberated from Vietnam, 1972. This is the real deal, Soviet TT-33. No import marks, nor has it been modified for the required safety to be installed, such as on imported pistols. Originals Russian TT-33s are difficult to find, & many of the few that made it home arrived from WWII as souvenirs or war trophy's that had been previously captured by the Nazi's & modified by removing any reference to Mother Russia. This example was liberated from Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War & still retains the black bakelite CCCP marked star grips. Slide has correct heavy, machined serrations & is numbered matching the frame. Markings include "rb 2002 1945" separated by the Izhevsk circle / triangle mark on left side of frame & on top of barrel, between the ejection port & rear sight. USSR square w/ diagonal line, arsenal refurbishing mark on left side of receiver before serial number. Fixed sights. Lanyard loop below left grip panel. Serrated spur solid hammer. Left side slide release & mag. release. Matching numbers on frame, slide & barrel. Hammer group scratch marked "02" (matching) on left side. MAGS: 1 original 8rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Original War Trophy Registration / Authorization Form, dated July 1965 as liberated by Gary E Cobs (E5), during his year long enlistment in Southeast Asia, from Feb. 71 - Feb 72, authenticated by Wayne T. Kammerer, CPT, MI, Chief, Interrogation Section. CONDITION: original blued finish has blended to a brown patina, primarily on the slide. Frame retains much more of its original finish. Grips demonstrate only a few tiny impressions w/ no other visible blemishing. Bore is dark but still retains well defined rifling. PROVENANCE: From the Lifelong Collection of Glen E. Mattox. (23-108/JZ). CURIO. $800-1,200.
