RIFLE WITH MANY BRASS AND GERMAN SILVER INLAYS. Cal. 36. S# NSN. The 45" octagon barrel is mounted with buckhorn rear and brass blade front sights and is unmarked. Reproduction lock with serpentine cock, faceted pan and roller frizzen has some stamped engraving and is also stamped "B.J. BEAN". Full length stock of curly maple is pinned to barrel and features brass hardware including double spurred trigger guard, crescent buttplate with 7" return and engraved patchbox. Stock is decorated with a large number of brass and German silver inlays of varying shapes including horseshoe, fish, birds, hatchet, cutlass and many geometric shapes including 8-point stars, shields and half moons. CONDITION: good. Old barrel with dark brown patina. Lock with some aged appearance. Wood retains most of its original finish. Bore is dark. Lock operable. (01-25390/MGM). ANTIQUE. $1,800-2,500.
