Cal. 44 Mag. S# S217375. Bbl. 6 1/2" with red insert in Baughman front sight; frame mounted factory Micrometer rear sight with white outlined blade. Mfg. 1961 with blued finish and checkered diamond center walnut target grips having thumb recess. Wide serrated target trigger and wide checkered target hammer; both case colored. Pinned barrel and recessed cylinder are not numbered but right handed extractor has matching serial number; changed to left handed with the Model 29-1 introduction at serial #S220000 to prevent loosening upon recoil. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: factory mahogany presentation case in near excellent condition having darker stained finish with more gloss than factory. Mid to late 1970's insert for revolver and tools that is misaligned plus mirrored duplicate in lid rather than plain flat insert. Hinges have been reattached with screws rather than normal method. Latch is not of type used by S&W. Sight screwdriver is appropriate short blade model with knurled aluminum handle. Customer portion of warranty card dated April 15, 1955 and manual dated "1/60". Factory letter of 2023 indicating truck shipped August 21, 1961 to Texas Gun Clinic of Houston, Texas; 3 Model 29's in the order with wholesale price of $86.06. CONDITION: a couple of very light marks in the finish plus a faint beginning cylinder turn line; all other aspects are near excellent with factory refinish dated "262" (February 1962) on left side of frame under grip. Bore is near excellent and timing is spot on. Grips have had extra finish applied and are more glossy than they were originally; no marks or damage with near excellent appearance. (26-1118/NW).
