Cal. .223. S# SP13523. Bbl 20". Mfg. 1968. A late 1960's Colt AR-15, still in its original red label box as shipped from Colt to the Pittsburgh Police Academy w/ all labels intact. A1 birdcage flash hider. Protected post front sight / gas block / bayonet lug. Pencil barrel marked "MP" between bayonet lug & gas block. Triangular beavertail handguards retained w/ strait delta ring. Slab side lower receiver Carry handle upper receiver w/ teardrop forward assist but no brass deflector. Large double screw front takedown pin. 10" shoulder stock w/ no trap door. Edgewater buffer. Chrome bolt & carrier. Bolt marked "MP". Carrier backstrap measures 1.57" in length. Dual aperture rear peep sight. Sling swivels front & rear. MAGS: 1 Colt aluminum 20 rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Brown cardboard factory box w/ correct red label. Originally shipped to Pittsburgh Police Acadamy, Pittsburgh, PA. Black sling. CONDITION: Most aspects indicate very little use, if any. Barrel still retains the cardboard wick. Bolt & carrier illustrate no sign of carbon or other fouling. Stocks in terrific condition. No imperfections on lower receiver. Upper receiver has a few faint drag lines on left side above mag well. Bore is bright w/ strong rifling. Fire control mechanism appears to function correctly when cycled by hand. PROVENANCE: Lifelong Collection of Terrence McCarty. (24-508/JZ). CURIO. $1,200-1,800.
