Overall length: 30”. Blade length: 23 1/2". This sword is likely Bavarian or German in origin and was possibly used by police or other law enforcement forces. Plain blade is slightly waisted near the hilt. Brass hilt with a plain guard and downturned quillon. 2 Branches meet the plain knuckle bow before entering the bird’s head style pommel. Grip appears to be a thin leather wrap over hardwood above a plain brass ferrule. Brass mounted leather scabbard with frog. CONDITION: blade has a light gray, somewhat mottled patina. Hilt has a pleasing mustard patina. The wrap is about 60% complete. Scabbard mounts have a pleasing patina. Leather body is a bit flexed but remains solid. Frog shows light to moderate wear.
