Cal. 22 LR. S# NSN. Bbl. 19 5/8" having steel "shark fin" blade front sight; blued with adjustable rear sight on its receiver cover extension. Mfg. October 1959 (1959-1990; 1,050,336 units) as very innovative Zytel plastic constructed rifle that Tom Frye set a world record with by shooting 2.5" square wooden blocks hand tossed into the air. For 14 days in October of 1959 he shot 100,004 out of 100,010 blocks. Mohawk Brown nylon stock has checkered panels plus white diamonds on sides of forend. Model designation is molded into the grip cap. Tube feed with cartridge insertion accomplished through buttplate. Receiver cover grooved to facilitate scope mounting. CONDITION: very good bluing with some very light handling marks that includes the stock. Near excellent bore. PROVENANCE: From the PMRB Collection. (25-5943/NW). CURIO. $350-500.
