1) 19TH CENTURY FIRE OR BOARDING AX. Overall length: 44". An interesting mid 1800s boarding ax w/ an exceptionally long haft. Shaped oak haft measures 44" long & has a bulbous butt. The iron head measures 7 1/2" long. The 2 languets extend 6" down the haft & are secured by 2 iron rivets each. The head has a 2 5/8" edge w/ the other end being a squared spike. CONDITION: haft shows expected wear w/ no damage. Head has a dark patina & is also undamaged. (02-16120/BF).
2) AX. Overall length: 22 1/2". An early likely 18th century hand ax w/ what appears to be the original, hand tooled haft. The head is nearly 8" long & has a 4" blade on 1 side. CONDITION: haft is well worn. Head has a dark overall patina & has 1 notable nick in the cutting edge. (02-16129/BF).
3) AX HEAD. Overall length: 9 1/2" w/ a 3 3/4" cutting edge. The rear of the blade has a hammering surface. The side of the blade marked w/ two 8 pointed stars & the words, “MARGA( ) BRIGNOLES”. CONDITION: head has a dark overall patina. (02-16150/BF). $400-700.
