Both cal. about 56. NSN. Bbls. 6" w/ smooth bores. Pin fastened walnut stocks w/ brass fittings having iron lanyard loops at butts. Left sides have iron belt hooks. Button tipped iron swivel ramrods. 1) Breech end of bbl. has crown over "7" proofs w/ broad arrow acceptance marks & crown proofs on left side. Lock forward of hammer has crown "VR / TOWER" & 1846 date. Lock & hammer have dbl. line border engraving. Left side of stock at wrist shows a faint broad arrow over "30" acceptance mark. CONDITION: metal has cleaned gray appearance showing scattered light pitting. Stock has worn appearance w/ dents & handling marks having evidence of repair visible on left flat. Bore is dark w/ areas of pitting close to muzzle. Hammer will not hold in cocked position. 2) Breech end of bbl. has crown over "VR" as well as crown over crossed arrow "5" & "7" proof marks. Belt hook has crown over "X" proof. Lock forward of hammer has crown over "VR" followed by broad arrow acceptance mark. Lower back portion of lock is marked "TOWER". CONDITION: stock shows wear & handling marks w/ chips, cracks & spots of repair in forearm, lock & sideplate areas. Dark lightly pitted bore. (01-17097(2)/DS). ANTIQUE. $800-1,200.
