1) CUTLASS. Overall length: 31 5/8". Blade length: 25 3/4". Plain blade with a single large fuller. Stamped on one side of the ricasso "186_". Solid brass basket hilt with small rivets along the knuckle bow. The top of the guard is stamped "23M 243". Leather wrapped grip. No scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a medium gray patina and does show evidence of sharpening. Hilt shows numerous small dimples in the guard. Grip shows wear but is substantially complete. 2) OFFICER. Overall length: 33 1/2". Blade length: 28". Plain blade with a single line fuller and a secondary fuller near the spine. Gilded brass hilt with a pierced oak leaf adorned guard featuring the letters "USN". Dolphin quillon with another dolphin at the top of the knuckle bow. Pommel has a large anchor on the front and a eagle with stars on the top. Wire wrapped shark skin grip with a sword knot attached. No scabbard. CONDITION: blade shows areas of heavy rust and pitting. Hilt is a bit loose but is complete and undamaged. Grip shows heavy wear with only a trace of wire remaining. Knot is worn and broken but remains complete. (02-23829/BF). $700-900.
