1) Overall length: 31 3/4". Blade length: 21 1/2". Blade is curved with 2 narrow decorative fullers. There is a vine engraved nearly the entire length of the blade next to the spine. There is figured work on the spine of the blade from 6" to 9" up from the tip. The ricasso area is engraved with geometric designs. The spine has an etched old collection number. The hilt appears to be carved bone or possibly ivory that is certifiably antique. The pommel is intricately, but archaically carved in the shape of an animal's head. The grip is wrapped in twisted wire. 2 Piece wooden scabbard with tribal carvings near the throat & at the tip. There are 2 long red, white & blue woven tassels attached with rattan weavings. CONDITION: the sword itself is in solid condition with no losses or notable damage to the blade. The scabbard has lost some of the rattan binding cord holding the 2 halves of the scabbard together.
2) Overall length: 27". Blade length: 22 1/2". Flat blade is unadorned except for 7 inlaid brass dots near the spine extending from 4" above the tip to 8 1/2" above the tip. The spine has an etched old collection number. Intricately carved wooden hilt of nearly black hardwood. Grip is wrapped in geometrically ornamented braided wire. 2 Piece carved wooden scabbard held together with dark rattan or possibly sinew. Scabbard has tribal carving near the throat & at the tip. There is a braided cloth & leather lanyard to aid in carrying the sword. CONDITION: the sword is in soldi condition with no notable losses & no damage to the blade. The scabbard remains solid & shows moderate wear. (02-17580/BF). $400-600.
