1) 58 Cal. early war Infantryman’s cartridge box w/ original “SNY” boxplate. CONDITION: good to very good; box is “as found”. Retaining both original tins, boxes complete include roller buckles, the original closure tabs has an old street repair on one side. Blacked surface is crazed w/ craquelure. 2) Bangor, Maine contract marked pattern 1857 .69 Cal cartridge box identified to William S Pond, a private in Company I 9th Maine Volunteer Militia. His name is nicely identified on the inside flap of the box. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: original research letter from renowned Maine dealers Bedford and Janet Hayes. CONDITION: very good overall & superior for early war leather. (02-13854/JS). $800-1,200.
