SWORDS & 1 CUT-DOWN CAVALRY SABER. 1) M1845. Overall length: 24 1/2". Blade length: 18 1/2". Plain blade stamped at the ricasso w/ a knight’s head on one side & a crowned cipher on the other. Solid brass hilt w/ horizontally ribbed grip. CONDITION: blade has a dark overall patina w/ some slight pitting at the tip. Hilt has a pleasing patina. No scabbard. 2) M1845. A later incarnation of the M1845 w/ an overall length of 24 1/2" & a blade length 18 1/2". Plain blade w/ no markings. Crossguard is stamped “I19 . R.6.II”. Solid iron hilt w/ a gold painted finish. Horizontally ribbed grip. No scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a light gray, cleaned finish. Hilt retains 70% of its painted finish. 3) SHORT SABER. An early 1800s cavalry saber measuring 28” overall w/ a blade that has been shortened to 22 3/4". Plain blade w/ a single wide fuller & a secondary fuller near the spine. Iron D-guard hilt w/ plain pommel & backstrap. Narrow languets on each side. Leather covered wood grip. No scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a dark overall patina, as does the hilt. Grip leather is about 35%. No wire. (02-21232-2/BF). $350-500.
