1) Overall length: 39”. Blade length: 33”. Blade has a single wide fuller and is stamped at the ricasso w/ a knight’s head. There is 5 1/2" etched panel on either side of the sword w/ a crowned royal cipher. Gilded brass hilt w/ a wide guard & knuckle bow. Wire-wrapped sharkskin grip. Black enameled scabbard. CONDITION: blade has been polished, sharpened, and shows areas of cleaned pitting. Hilt retains some original gilded finish. Grip is complete. Scabbard shows light wear. 2) Overall length: 39”. Blade length: 31 3/4". Blade has a single medium fuller and is stamped at the ricasso “(king’s head) (knight’s head) W. K & C”. Blade is etched over the first 17 1/2" w/ geometric & foliate motifs that include a mounted officer & two panels that read “Benedikt Schuster, 4. Gsrd. 1904-1907.” & “Kgs. Bayr. 3. Chevauf. Rgt. Herzog Carl Theodor”. German silver hilt w/ folding guard that features the rampant Bavarian lion. Composite coated wooden grip. Iron scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a light gray patina w/ minor discoloration. Hilt is a bit loose and a little misshaped in spots. Grip retains about 40% of its black finish. Scabbard has an oxidized w/ two notable dents. (02-21259/BF). $300-400.
