1) CAVALRY. Overall length: 39 1/2". Blade length: 32 1/2". Blade has a single medium fuller and is stamped at the ricasso "26432". The sheet steel hilt is proofed with marks from the Kokura Arsenal. Checkered steel backstrap with plain pommel and checkered 1-piece wooden grip. Steel scabbard with one suspension ring. CONDITION: blade has seen heavy sharpening. Hilt shows light overall wear. Scabbard has light wear with a dark patina and a few scattered dents. 2) CAVALRY. Overall length: 37". Blade length: 30 3/8". Blade has a single medium fuller and is stamped at the ricasso "53402". The sheet steel hilt is proofed with marks from the Kokura Arsenal. Checkered steel backstrap with plain pommel and checkered 1-piece wooden grip. Steel scabbard with one suspension ring. CONDITION: blade has been improperly sharpened and shows several nicks to the edge. Hilt generally shows light wear, as does the scabbard. 3) KATANA. Overall length: 38 3/8". Blade length: 27 3/8". Blade has a full-length hi and is stamped above the hi "108355". There is a brass habaki and one seppa above and below the plain iron tsuba. The fuchi has stamps indicating manufacture at the Kokura Arsenal. One-piece painted aluminum tsuka and kabuto-gane. The simulated tsuka-ito is brown over white simulated same with one simulated three cherry blossom menuki on each side. Brown/green painted iron saya. CONDITION: blade has been improperly sharpened but does retain a nice profile. Tsuka shows light overall wear, as well as the saya. (02-23071-1/BF). $700-1,000.
