1) KATANA. Overall length: 37 3/4". Blade length: 26 3/4". Blade has an irregular hamon and a copper habaki. There is one seppa above and below the iron tsuba that is incised with decorative scroll engraving. The nakago has a single mekugi-ana and a 7-character signature on one side. There is a matching iron fuchi and kashira with a black tsuka-ito over white same. The menuki appear to be opposing dogs. The saya is black enameled wood. CONDITION: blade has a fairly good polish with no faults. Tsuka shows light overall wear. Saya shows heavy wear and losses to the finish and the throat. 2) KATANA. Overall length: 38 ¾”. Blade length: 26 1/2". Blade has a straight hamon with a silvered copper habaki. Plain iron tsuba with built-in seppa. Brown-painted canvas tsuka-ito over white cloth. Each side shows a non-ferrous 3-cherry blossom menuki. Black-painted wooden saya with complete and correct mounts. CONDITION: blade has numerous chips, particularly near the front. Tsuka shows light overall wear, as does the saya. 3) ARMY DRESS. Overall length: 38 5/8”. Blade length: 33”. Blade has a simulated irregular hamon with a narrow hi. Gilded brass hilt with a pierced guard. There is a 10-petal cherry blossom on the backstrap and a wire-wrapped composite grip. Plated iron saya. CONDITION: blade shows some original factory polish. Hilt shows traces of original gilding. Saya retains about 60% of its plated finish. (02-22950-4/BF). $800-1,200.
