1) A good shin-gunto katana measuring 38 3/8" overall with a 24 1/4" blade. Blade has no visible hamon and a gilded copper habaki. The nakago has a single mekugi-ana and a 3 character signature on one side. The gilded brass tsuba is of classic 4 cherry blossom design with one seppa below and none above. Matching fuchi and kabuto-gane. Brown tsuka-ito with white same and gilded 3 cherry blossom menuki. Metal saya painted olive green with matching gunto. CONDITION. blade is in need of a good cleaning and polishing. It does show a few tiny nicks to the ha. Tsuka shows wear and appears to be internally broken just above the menuki. Saya also shows moderate wear and is missing the throat. 2) A good shin-gunto katana measuring 39 1/8" overall with a 27 1/2" blade. Blade has a very light hamon that appears to be straight and a gilded copper habaki. The nakago has 4 mekugi-ana and a 3 character signature on one side. It is possible that the nakago has been shortened. The gilded brass tsuba is of classic 4 cherry blossom design with one seppa above and below. Matching fuchi and kabuto-gane. Brown tsuka-ito with white same and gilded 3 cherry blossom menuki. Wooden saya with a leather covering and a single suspension ring. CONDITION. blade is in need of a good cleaning and polishing. It does show one notable nick to the ha. Tsuka shows average wear and the same is partially stained on one side. The saya has no throat and the top of the leather covering is detached, but present.
