1) Overall length: 22 1/4". Blade length: 15 3/8". Blade has a straight hamon with a short 2 1/2" hi near the habaki. 2 Piece habaki with smaller gilded habaki set over a silvered copper habaki. There is one seppa above and below the tsuba. Tsuba is iron with gold inlay and features dragons encircling both sides. Nakago is unsigned and has 2 mekugi-ana. The lower mekugi-ana appears to be drilled at least 2 and maybe 3 times. Matching fuchi and kashira. White same with black tsuka-ito. Menuki appear to be bronze crouching tigers. Saya is black painted wood. There is an 8" kogatana with gold highlighted bronze handle. CONDITION: blade is undamaged but could use a good cleaning. Tsuba has some oxidation. Tsuka ito is frayed around the kashira. Saya shows moderate wear.
2) Overall length: 25 1/2". Blade length: 18". Blade has an imperceptible hamon. 2 Piece gilded habaki. There is a single seppa and no tsuba. Nakago has a 7 character signature and a single mekugi-ana. Matching gold inlaid fuchi and kashira with tan tsuka-ito. White same. Decorative menuki in a swirl pattern. Black enameled wooden saya. CONDITION: blade has significant staining and oxidation but does not show any edge nicks or delamination. The tsuka shows heavy wear throughout. (02-17582/BF). $600-800.
