1) TIGERS IN THE GORGE 1 OF 100 SIGNED PRINTS BY JOHN D. SHAW: Limited edition, artist signed print, "Tigers in the Gorge". This print is #10 of only 100. Print is commemorating the AVG (American Volunteer Group), later known as "The Flying Tigers" Victory at the Salween. Thanks to the skill & bravery of these amazing American pilots, what would become the demise of China was avoided that day by stopping the reconstruction of a bridge that would have reconnected road travel for Japan. It is signed by 28 different member of "The Flying Tigers". The print measures 24"x37" and mounted on a foam board measuring 28"x40", protected by plastic. CONDITION" Print has no visible damage of any kind and all signatures are dark and clear, protected by plastic wrap. Foam board is undamaged, showing proper storage since mounting.
2) SIGNED, LIMITED EDITION PRINT, THE BEGINNING OF THE END BY WILLIAM S. PHILLIPS: #692 of 1000. A beautiful depiction of the B-29, the "Enola Gay" as it returns from its famous flight on August 6, 1945, heading to Tinian Island in the Marianas. In the distance, Iwo Jima, and the emergency landing strips are visible, after being fought for by the United States Marine Corps & Navy in another epic battle illustrating both the beginning & the end of WWII. The print is signed by Enola Gay Command Pilot Paul Tibbets, Bombardier, Thomas W. Ferebee, Navigator Theodore J. Van Kirk, Bomb Electronics Officer, Morris R. Jeppson, Radio Operator Richard H. Nelson & artist, William S. Phillips. Print measures 23"x27" and mounted on 29"x33" foam boars, sealed in plastic. CONDITION: Aside from a small 2.5" light impression that is visible under close inspection, there are no apparent wrinkles or blemishes visible. All signatures are dark & legible and foam mounting is undamaged, demonstrating proper storage and handling. (02-16953-20/JZ). $200-400.
