1) 1 Pair of rough, unfinished, black leather military style shoes dating from 1840 to 1860. There is a single eyelet for tying and soles show neither right nor left. Soles are attached with numerous small iron nails. No laces. CONDITION: shoes show significant wear but remain quite solid and the leather is still pliable.
2) 1 Pair of finished black leather military style brogans. These shoes likely date from the closing years of the Civil War to the Indian War period. There are 4 eyelets on each side and the soles do show a distinct difference between right and left. Soles are attached with iron nails and show evidence of at least 1 resoling. There are horseshoe shaped iron plates on both heels. Leather laces included. CONDITION: brogans show significant wear but remain solid. The leather is quite stiff but not crazed.
