1) Overall length: 37 3/4". Blade length: 25 3/8". Blade has no visible hamon and has a 17 1/2" hi. Above the rear of the hi is the number "27072". At the base of the blade is a 5-character Japanese inscription on one side, and the other side shows a 2-character inscription with a hinomaru-style flag. Plain gilded brass tsuba with a plain brass fuchi showing Kokura Arsenal marks. Solid brass/copper tsuka with integral kabuto-gane. Iron saya. CONDITION: blade has a nice finish but may have been improperly sharpened or just shows late-war workmanship. Tsuka shows light overall wear. Saya shows light wear but typical late-war poor workmanship. 2) Overall length: 39 1/2". Blade length: 28 1/8". Blade has an irregular hamon with a copper habaki. Gilded brass four cherry blossom tsuba with four seppa above and below. The nakago has a single mekugi-ana with an 11-character signature on one side. Matching gilded bronze fuchi and kabuto-gane. Brown tsuka-ito with white same beneath and gilded brass three cherry blossom menuki. Brown-painted iron saya with gilt and bronze gunto. CONDITION: blade has a beautiful, crisp polish. Tsuka and saya show light overall wear. (02-22917-2/BF). $900-1,300.
