1) US. A heavy wool uniform coat & pants of a style worn during WWI. The 5-button uniform coat has 4 flap pockets on the front. The left sleeve has 91st Division Pine Tree patch, a red chevron, and a bullion chevron near the cuff. Pinned over the left pocket is a WWI Victory Medal with 3 bars. The collar discs are “US” on the right and “MG (crossed rifles) C” on the left. There are 2 dog tags included on the original cord that are stamped “MAURICE. L. JOHNSON. USA”. Pants are lace bottom style. Uniform comes with an overseas cap with “US” disc and a pair of leg wrappings. CONDITION: light wear overall with no significant moth damage. 2) US. A fine wool uniform coat & pants of a style worn during WWI. The 5-button uniform coat has 4 flap pockets on the front. The left sleeve has a 1st Division “Big Red 1” patch, a red chevron, and a bullion chevron near the cuff. Pinned over the left pocket is a WWI Victory Medal bar with 5 stars and a Purple Heart ribbon bar. The collar discs are “US” on the right and crossed rifles over “G” on the left. Pants are button calf style. CONDITION: light wear overall with no significant moth damage. 3) BRITISH. A WWI period British 5-button wool tunic with 4 pockets on the front. Each sleeve has 4 large rank chevrons above the cuff with a cannon and an 8-petal flower above the chevrons. I suspect this is a Sergeant Major of Artillery for a particular regiment. The uniform coat comes with a brown leather 5-pocket bandoleer and a visor cap with an artillery insignia on the front. CONDITION: uniform has some moth damage with a few sewn repairs. Bandoleer shows moderate wear. Hat has severe moth damage on the left side as worn. PROVENANCE: From the Lifelong Collection of Glen E. Mattox. (02-18903/BF). $500-750.
