1) ARMY. A good example of a WWI M1916/17 German helmet with a dark gray/green painted finish. Interior has a 3 pad leather liner and leather band that may be a replacement. No chinstrap, however both chinstrap attachment loops are present. Interior left is stamped, "T.66". CONDITION: helmet retains approx. 85% of its original finish. Liner shows very little wear indicating possible replacement.
2) PRUSSIAN. A good example of a WWI Prussian M1915 Jager zu Pferde lobster tail helmet. Helmet has a gray metal spike with a 4 lobed base. The right side has an undersized national kokard that is authentic but incorrect for this helmet. The left Prussian kokard is missing. The Prussian front plate has a silver plated finish. Black leather chinstrap. Helmet body has a clean darkened metal finish as does the lobster tail. The rear shows 9 metal rivets. Interior front visor has partial green paint. The 8 tongue brown leather liner appears to be a modern replacement. The interior crown is stamped, "C.E. JUNCKER 1916". CONDITION: helmet appears to be professionally cleaned and partially restored. The helmet body has a few scattered shallow dents but no major problems. The spike and eagle appear to be original and show light to moderate wear. Liner shows no wear. 1 Spike base rivet has been replaced with a period, but not matching, example. (02-17108/BF). $1,000-1,300.
