1) 1942. A fine example of a first pattern British paratrooper helmet with the early black leather chin strap. Helmet has a field green finish with a fiber rim. The brown leather sweatband is deeply stamped “BMB 19 7 1/2(in shield) 42”. The dark leather chin strap has a 4 point connection system and a widened cup for the chin. The interior has cotton webbing with a cotton connecting string. CONDITION: helmet shows a few expected scuff & scrapes on the exterior. The interior is complete and shows light to moderate wear.
2) 1943. A fine example of a third pattern British paratrooper helmet with a later canvas chin strap. Helmet has a field green finish with a metal rim. The brown leather sweatband is marked “BMB 19 7 1/2(in shield) 43”. The khaki canvas chin strap has a 3 point connection system modified from an earlier 4 point connection system (earlier holes still visible). The canvas chin straps cross to form a leather & chamois lined cup for the chin. The interior has white cotton webbing with a cotton connecting string. CONDITION: helmet shows a few expected scuff & scrapes on the exterior. The interior is complete and shows light overall wear. (02-18110-1/BF). $1,200-1,600.
