1) A scarce WWII German officer’s visor cap for a member of a Jager Unit. Cap has a sage green crown with dark green piping. There is a plated metal army eagle at the front of the crown. The band appears to be a dark olive green with a wreath and cockade at the front. Silver bullion chinstrap with pebbled finish side buttons. Black visor with a tan underside. Brown leather sweatband with stained putty-colored liner, marked “EREL PATENT STIRNSCHUTZ”. Diamond-shaped sweat shield with one rounded end. The remnants of a silvered label under the sweat shield are of a style used by Erel. CONDITION: cap exhibits some light moth tracking with bona fide moth nips on the bottom edge. Interior shows significant sweat stains, but the cap displays quite well. 2) A good WWII German officer’s visor cap for a member of the Infantry. Cap has a dark sage green crown with white piping. There is an aluminum army eagle at the front of the crown. The band is dark forest green with an aluminum wreath and cockade at the front. Silver bullion chinstrap with pebbled finish side buttons. Black visor with a tan underside. Tan leather sweatband with stained yellow liner. Diamond-shaped sweat shield with a logo underneath that reads “Erstklassig”. CONDITION: crown shows a few small, scattered moth nips. Liner shows light to moderate overall wear. (02-22733-2/BF). $700-1,000.
