1) SA. Overall length 14 5/8". Blade is etched “Alles fur Deutschland” on one side & marked “WILH. WELTERSBACH SOLINGEN (logo)” on the other. Nickel silver cross guard stamped “Wm” on the reverse & nickel silver pommel. Brown enameled SA button & nickel silver eagle. Brown wood grip. Brown anodized scabbard with appropriate mounts. CONDITION: blade shows scabbard wear with some evidence of light sharpening. Hilt shows light wear. Scabbard finish is approximately 80% with some oxidation.
2) RAD. Overall length 15 5/8". A good example of a Reichsarbeitsdienst hewer. Blade is etched “Arbeit adelt” on one side and is marked “R J A D (in triangle) GES. GESCH CARL JUL KREBS SOLINGEN (logo)” on the other. Plated guard, ferrule, backstrap & beak. 2 piece staghorn grip. Black enameled metal scabbard with plated mounts. CONDITION: blade shows scabbard wear and some discoloration. There is also some evidence of sharpening, though it is not offensive. Hilt & scabbard show light to moderate wear. Scabbard body has about 96% original enamel. (02-17935/BF). $900-1,300.
