1) LUFTWAFFE. A well-used example of a Luftwaffe M1935 helmet showing a single Luftwaffe decal on the left-hand side. The helmet has a dark gray/blue-painted finish, with the ghost of a national shield decal on the right side together with the aforementioned Luftwaffe eagle on the left. The inside rear of the helmet is stamped "303" and the inside left is stamped "Q66". Eight-tongue leather liner with partial leather chinstrap. CONDITION: The helmet shows wear, particularly at the top, with two side-by-side dents resembling bullet strikes. The Luftwaffe decal is about 40%, and the national shield decal is not present, but an outline can be discerned. The interior is dry and flaked but complete. Chinstrap is only about 15% intact. 2) ARMY. An M1940 battle helmet with a dark gray/green-painted finish and no decals. The inside rear is stamped "DN194" and the inside left is stamped "Q64". There is no liner or chinstrap, but the band is present. CONDITION: The helmet finish is strong with minor oxidation. The band also has oxidation but remains complete. (02-23650/BF). $500-700.
