POST WWII PHOTOGRAPH OF A PILOT STANDING NEXT TO HIS ME-109G. 1) SCHNELL. A photographic postcard showing a mid-chest-up view of WWII German Luftwaffe pilot Siegfried Schnell, signed in blue ink. Schnell wears the Knights Cross with Oak Leaves in the photo. He had 93 air victories in Fighter Squadron 2, Richthofen. He was killed in action on February 25, 1944. CONDITION: reverse of the photo has glue residue. (02-23134/BF). 2) OESAU. Two post-WWII photographic prints of German Luftwaffe pilot Walter "Gulle" Oesau. The prints show Oesau standing near the tail of his ME-109G. He wears the Knights Cross with Oak Leaves in the photos. CONDITION: photos remain crisp with no wear. (02-23135/BF). 3) SPATE. A photographic postcard showing a mid-chest-up view of WWII German Luftwaffe pilot Wolfgang Spate, signed in blue ink. Spate wears the Knights Cross with Oak Leaves and a Short-Range Night Fighter Squadron Clasp in the photo. Spate lived through the war and finished the war flying an ME-262. CONDITION: the postcard has been addressed on the back, postmarked, and has a censor’s stamp. (02-23136/BF). $400-700.
