TO "DE SPECIAL". Cal. 20 Ga., 2 3/4". S# 200232. The 28" barrels with slightly raised matted rib are engraved "Krupp Fluid Steel Made Expressly For" "Mr. Harry Overbaugh By A. H. Fox Gun Co. Philia. PA. U.S.A.". There are 2" triangles of scroll at breech ends and 1/8" engraved bands at muzzles. S# is engraved on barrel flats and bottoms of barrels are hand engraved with Krupp Steel information. Small size case hardened Fox action features automatic safety "SAFE" inlaid in gold and double triggers. Action is engraved with 80% coverage small scroll with geometric borders "ANSLEY H. FOX" is in scrolled ribbon on each side. Engraving is enhanced by scattered relief gold accents with a quail on left fence and snipe on right. Hinge pin ends have gold flowers, top lever is inlaid with geometric design. Bottom of action has circular scene of two setters in gold, within gold circle. Trigger guard bow is flush gold inlaid with the signature "H. Overbaugh", S# is in gold on tang. All information on watertable including grade, patent dates and S# are hand engraved. Attractive straight grip buttstock of nicely crotch figured and well streaked European walnut measures 14 3/8" over engraved skeleton steel buttplate. Side panels are checkered in "D" style. Grip checkering is also of "D" style with flourishes toward comb separated by an uncheckered ribbon. Matching splinter ejector forend with engraved patent information on iron, inlet horn tip and gold starburst on central escutcheon has Sterlingworth type friction release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: L .619"'. R .619". Restriction: L .016" (mod). R .007" (IC). Wall thickness: L .033". R .027". STOCK: DAH: 2 5/8". DAC: 1 9/16". CAST: neutral. LOP: 14 3/8". WEIGHT: 6 lb. 4 oz. CONDITION: very fine as custom finished. Metal parts retaining approximately 90% of their fine finishes, some high edge wear is noted.
