Cal. 28 Ga., 2 1/2". S# T6960 (1922). The 28 1/8" dovetailed barrels are engraved "Westley Richard & Co. London" on narrow game rib. Barrel flats are stamped with Birmingham nitro proofs for 2 1/2" chambers. Small boxlock action features automatic safety and double triggers. Action is engraved with 80% coverage well cut scroll; maker's name is on each side. S# is on scroll engraved trigger guard tang. Plain European walnut round knob pistol grip buttstock measures 14 1/4" over Silver type pad and features drop points, point pattern checkering and vacant silver oval. Matching splinter forend has Anson release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: L .564. R .560. Restriction: L .030 (Full). R .010. (IC). Wall thickness: L .026. R .030. STOCK: DAH: 2". DAC: 1 5/8". CAST: neutral. LOP: 14 1/4". WEIGHT: 5 lb. 2 oz. CONDITION: good as refinished. Barrels retaining nearly all of a good quality reblue, engraving softened. Action is cleaned to silver gray. Floorplate and trigger guard are cleaned and cold blued to grayish brown. Buttstock, possibly replaced, has oil finish with a few marks. Forend with darker wood has recut checkering. Bores are bright and shiny. Action is tight with forend installed, a bit shaky with forend removed otherwise mechanically good. (23-1287/MGM). CURIO. $2,000-3,000.
