Lot consists of: 1) Unmarked brass cannon on a cast and painted aluminum carriage. Carriage cap squares are painted and are not removable. Cannon measures 8 1/4" in length. Carriage measures 12 1/2" in length and 9" in width. Complete w/ a matching painted bore brush. This is a non-firing display piece. CONDITION: very good w/ mild wear to paint and some discoloration to cannon tube. 2) Unmarked brass mortar on fixed wood mounted w/ brass accoutrements. Mortar measures 3 1/4" in length. Base measures 4 1/8" wide and 5" long. Complete w/ chained base wedge. CONDITION: brass components exhibit pleasing patinas overall w/ some discoloration around the touch hole. Wood base is very good. 3) Non-firing replica of Leonardo Da Vinci's 1483 Bombarda. Cast cannon tube & adjustment crank w/ steel fire adjustment mechanism. Wood base w/ thin metal bands retained by tapped pins. CONDITION: cannon exhibits areas of discoloration & patina, but otherwise presents nicely overall. Wood base shows some light wear & loosening to the metal bands, but otherwise remains sturdy & serviceable. PROVENANCE: from the Lifelong Collection of Glen E. Mattox. (02-18950/MLW). $200-300.
