1) This cap box has no markings but does have an interior flap. The construction is sewn throughout with no rivets. The front flap has a “1” in the center. The finial is brass of a somewhat stubby form. The reverse shows 2 narrow, sewn belt loops. The closure tab has a single row of stitching. CONDITION: box shows light to moderate wear throughout. 2) This cap box has no markings but it does have an interior flap. The construction is quite crude and appears to be possibly pig skin. The construction is sewn throughout with no rivets. The front flap has several sets of initials carved into it, the most prominent of which is “AM”. The finial is brass of a shortened form. The reverse has 2 sewn belt loops, one of which had become detached and reconnected with a field repair. The closure tab has a single row of crude stitching. CONDITION: box shows moderate wear throughout with remnants of the interior wool. 3) This crudely made cap box has no markings but it does have an interior flap. The construction is crude and utilized bridle leather. The construction is sewn throughout with no rivets. The front flap is short and a bit square-ish. The finial is completely round. The reverse has 2 sewn belt loops. The closure tab is missing. CONDITION: box shows moderate wear throughout. Straps are complete. There is a small separation at the lower right, as viewed.
