1) US. An M1855/70 socket bayonet of the Civil War era measuring 22” overall with a 16 3/4" blade. The ricasso is marked “US”. The scabbard is brass mounted leather with a riveted leather belt loop. CONDITION: bayonet has a dark patina but is complete & undamaged. Scabbard is a bit flexed but remains quite functional. Belt loop shows moderate wear. (02-20069/BF). 2) ENFIELD. A P1853 English bayonet for an Enfield rifle. Overall length is 21” with a blade length of 17 1/2". Triangular blade. CONDITION: this example appears to be excavated and has a somewhat pitted, dark finish. The end of the socket is a bit split. (02-20070/BF). 3) ENFIELD. A nice example of a P1853 English bayonet for an Enfield rifle. Overall length is 20 3/4" with a blade length of 17 1/4". Triangular blade stamped on the ricasso “S. HILL & SON” with a variety of proof marks. CONDITION: bayonet has an overall dark patina with some areas of oxidation. (02-20071/BF). $300-500.
