This lot includes 1 likely post-WWII era US folding entrenching shovel with a green cotton canvas holder stenciled "US" and marked in two places with the owner’s name "HOLT". / 2 European WWI or WWII era entrenching shovels, possibly Germanic in origin. One example measures 18 1/2" overall with a knobbed terminus on the handle, and the other measures 27 1/2" with what may be a replaced handle. / 1 Brown pebble-finished leather scabbard for an entrenching shovel, similar to a German M1938 example. / 1 Partial swivel frog for a US 45-70 bayonet. CONDITION: all items generally show light wear and are complete. Bayonet frog has dry, split leather. (02-22686-1/BF). $300-500.
