REVOLUTIONARY WAR PAY CERTIFICATE & 1 REVOLUTIONARY WAR ENLISTMENT.
1) PAY CERTIFICATE. A state of Connecticut pay certificate dated 29 April 1783 to Captain Abner Granger for 16 pounds. Appropriately signed & countersigned as issued. CONDITION: document is housed in a frame & shows evidence of previous folding. (02-15487 /BF).
2) ENLISTMENT DOCUMENT. An enlistment document for James Dalley of Canaan, Connecticut joining the Continental Army based in New York, commanded by Colonel Fisher Gay on July 6, 1776 until Dec. 25, 1776. Document is signed “James Daley” by recruiter’s hand & Mr. Dalley makes his mark w/ an “X”. CONDITION: document is housed in a frame & is quite legible w/ some minor staining & a few tiny holes. (02-15488 /BF).
3) COLONIAL PAPER MONEY. This group consists of 2 pre Revolutionary War notes that include a 2 dollar United Colonies note dated Feb. 17, 1776 & hand numbered “607” & a 2 dollar Maryland note dated April 10, 1774 & hand numbered “6109”. There is also 1 Revolutionary War period 45 dollar note dated Jan. 14, 1779 & hand numbered “2134”. CONDITION: all notes are housed in a frame & show creases from quarter folding. 45 Dollar note has a slight separation on central fold. (02-15489/BF). $300-600.
