1) French M1882 Infantry officer's sword measuring 40" overall with a plain single fullered blade marked near the hilt " Manufacture nationale d'armes de Chatellerault gbre 1913 Offer d' Infrie Ml 1882 ". Plated hilt with a 3-branch guard and a wire wrapped horn grip. Black enameled steel scabbard. CONDITION: sword and scabbard show light wear overall. 2) British M1822 Infantry officer's sword measuring 40 1/2" overall with an etched blade. The etched blade shows foliate motifs along with a crowned " VRI " on each side. There is no makers mark except the oft seen 6 pointed star. Gilded brass semi-basket guard with a " VRI " cipher in the center. Wire wrapped leather grip. Iron scabbard that may not be original to the sword. CONDITION: blade has a light gray patina. The hilt retains traces of original gilding. Grip is intact. Scabbard has a gray patina and is undamaged. 3) British M1822 Light Cavalry saber measuring 40 3/4" overall with a plain single fullered blade and no discernable makers markings. Iron hilt with a 2-branch guard. Wire wrapped shark skin grip. Iron scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a light gray patina with very light pitting. The hilt has an overall dark patina. The wire wrap is complete but there are losses to the edges of the shark skin. retains traces of original gilding. Grip is intact. Scabbard has a gray patina and is undamaged save for a few shallow dents. PROVENANCE: From the PMRB Collection. (02-25859/BF). NON-GUN. $400-600.
