1) JAPANESE. A Japanese army officer's parade saber measuring 35 3/4" overall with a 29 1/8" blade. The plain blade has a single narrow fuller. Gilded brass hilt with a pierced guard and 10-petal cherry blossom on the backstrap. Composite grip and plated iron scabbard. CONDITION: blade shows some original factory polish. Hilt shows light wear but has no wire. Scabbard shows spotty oxidation. 2) GERMAN. An artillery officer's saber measuring 41" overall with a 35 1/4" blade having a single medium fuller. The blade is marked near the hilt "(knight's head) WKC." Plated iron hilt. Wire-wrapped composite grip. Black enameled iron scabbard. CONDITION: blade shows substantial original factory polish with some areas of oxidation near the tip. Hilt shows moderate wear with some oxidation. Grip is 100%, but a few pieces of wire are missing. Scabbard shows light wear. 3) FRENCH. A good example of a French musician's short sword measuring 27 3/4" overall with a 19 1/2" blade with a rounded tip. The plain blade is unmarked but has a raised medial ridge. Plated hilt with a heavy crossguard and fish scale-type grips. Plated scabbard with a clover-like motif at the drag. CONDITION: blade has a mottled, oxidized patina. Hilt and scabbard show light wear. (02-23418/BF). $400-550.
